Magnificent. This place is beautiful and one of the prettiest parks we've visited. The season is barely open here and it was an almost empty park. This area receives 500+ inches of snow annually and all of the liquid in the lake is a direct result of snowmelt and rain, no streams or rivers. This makes it amazingly clear and virtually zero sediment. The trails to walk down to the lake were closed due to snow but we drove around the rim and got views from different perspectives. Deepest lake in the US at more than 2700 ft deep and sitting in the caldera of a relatively young volcano makes this just one very cool place.
Oh yeah - I am definitely going to visit there!
