Day two and we covered 708 miles. Today felt longer than yesterday and I can't believe we have made it so far across the country in such a short time. It was really cool to see the landscape change so much as we travel. When we left Tennessee in the morning, there were trees and roiling hills much like VA. Even through Arkansas, the landscape didn't feel much different from home. Now in OK, you really notice how flat and treeless it is. We drove through pouring rain again and you could see the columns of rain from far away. It is interesting to see the geography of our country from this perspective.
Highlights of the day were visiting Memphis, crossing the Mississippi, Checotah, OK, and Oklahoma City. Elk City seems like a cool town with the Rte 66 museum, but we pulled in as darkness set. Got to see a beautiful sunset though! All in all, good day.

Beautiful pictures! Makes me think of our long days of driving last summer - not the fun stuff. The good - I mean great - stuff is yet to come. Can't wait to see those pictures!
