We left Yosemite yesterday morning after a really great visit there. Beautiful park if you ever get the chance to visit! From Yosemite, we decided to drive through San Francisco to stop at REI and go over the golden gate bridge for fun. Andrew's sleeping pad was leaking and we bought it at REI. Buy stuff there!!! They replaced it with a new one, no questions asked. We grabbed a quick lunch at a little taco/ burrito hole in the wall and headed north and over the bridge to Pt Reyes, where we camped last night. Everyone was moaning because our campsite was a walk-in ( 2 miles up and over a ridge carrying all our crap). However, once we got to our site, no more complaints were heard. Ocean view, quiet, and peaceful site, situated on the side of a big hill. Magnificent cliffs on the ocean with tide pools and active osprey hunting made this one of my favorites. Wow!!!
This morning we went to the light house, where the views were fabulous from the cliffs above the Pacific. Holy cow, what a crazy drive out there! Cattle guards and skinny, badly rutted roads did not seem like the path to the light house. Interesting part of the journey, was all the active historic ranches where families were still dairy farming. Some lucky cows get constant views of the ocean and shore. Fun excursion to a different world.
